Know Your Rights When Disputing A Credit Card Debt

If you want to dispute a credit card debt, you have the right to do so. When disputing a debt, know that the agency is required to provide you with the following information within 5 days:

  • The amount you owe.
  • The creditor’s name.
  • The fact that you have the right to dispute the debt and that they will assume it’s valid if you don’t appeal within 30 days.
  • Verification from the debt collector if you dispute the debt.
