3 Alternatives Before Using a Debt Settlement Company

A debt settlement company may not be the way to go for you.

Here are other alternatives that you may want to use:

  • Negotiate with the creditors on your own: You can easily call the creditor and try to negotiate your debt yourself.
  • Credit counseling services: These counselors can help you by giving you guidance. And since they are usually non-profit, they may do it for free or a little of nothing.
  • File for bankruptcy: This isn’t the best way to go, but you can always file Chapter 7 bankruptcy.
