What if I Don’t Have a Credit Score?

You’ve heard that a good credit score is important, but what happens if you have no score at all? More than 50 million Americans do not have a credit score, usually because they have no credit history or because their credit accounts are too new to be scored. Called the “credit invisibles,” these adults are often 18-19 year-olds who simply have not opened any credit accounts yet, though there is a segment of older adults who don’t rely on credit at all.
